Super Shredder
One of the most popular file shredders is the Super Shredder. But popularity
is not an evidence of best efficiency in this case. This program can not be
purchased singly. It’s a part of a software pack Super Utilities. That means
that in order to get a Super Shredder you have to overpay ($99.95) and get
other programs within Super Utilities Pack which you might not need at all.
I can’t say that the Super Utilities is not user-friendly software but still
one would have to spend some time to figure out how it works: there are lot
of settings and additional programs.

The other disadvantage is that user has to perform an
amount of tasks manually. For instance you have to add files which you want
to destroy ‘by hand’: one has to search them on the system. It’d be ok if we
were not dealing with files which tend to be hidden and are stored in long
paths (example: D:\Documents and Settings\FreaK!\Local Settings\Temporary
Internet Files\Content.IE5\OH27G1AZ\supermenuhook[1].dll). Even an advanced
user might not know which files are garbage and which are not. While testing
the program I deleted some important .dll file and one of my programs was
terminated.

So Super Shredder would be a suitable choice if you are
looking for a set of programs combined in one pack. But you know they say
enough is as good as a feast. Moreover, in this case it will take time to
get acquainted with the software pack.
