The other common file shredder is the Blancco - File Shredder (www.blancco.com). Manufacturer says 'The software uses advanced algorithms which overwrite your files multiple times so that the data is no longer readable'. Well, that's great but what's special about it? Many shredders use this techniques or even more advanced ones. You can purchase this 'Advanced logarithms' software for about 30$.

To make a decent review I always install the demo-versions of software. Now I have downloaded Blancco's software but I had troubles installing it. Besides that Blancco - File Shredder is a program that is quite user-friendly and in general easy to use. You have to perform much fewer operations manually than with the Super Shredder. Here you can select what you want to erase by categories: Recycle Bin, System Files, System Files that include Temporary Files (Windows Temporary Files, Internet Temporary Files) and Internet cookies.

Still these are not the only files that sometimes have to be erased. For that Blancco's product offers an options which allows you to choose manually any other files and folders that you want to be destroyed. But here we meet the same problem as in Super Shredder: an IT specialist is probably able to distinguish the appropriate files and folders but can a common user? Again, one mistake can lead to whole system corruption.

Further on, Blancco's settings allow user to choose one out of 13 different shredding algorithms. The program comes in 5 languages (German, Spanish, French, English, Swedish).

Generally Blancco - File Shredder is a nice program, but I am sure that better ones can be recovered!
