Advanced File Shredder is another popular shredding software.

The functionality features are mostly a copy of the Blancco - File Shredder. The primary use is also to pick the files manually and then to shred them. In addition to that, one can erase the recycle bin, the temporary internet files and cookies. But still, the program is not capable of catching and erasing all different kinds of other temporary files. For instance while I am making this review, the temporary file is  being created by Microsoft office. It can be stored in several paths. When you have tons of files, will you have patience and time to search for the temporary file clones of your real file and destroy them. But if you use this program and you are willing to secure your data, it is what you will have to do, because the Advanced File Shredder doesn't even have a search feature.

It can use three methods of overwriting (7-pass US Government standard, cryptographically strong random number key, Gutmann's shredding method). Also user can choose the number of passes to overwrite files. Up to 999. I guess that feature is for some paranoiacs. :)

It's hard to tell more about this program because it is not packed with plenty of features. Nothing really advanced either. Advanced file shredder is just a casual program with no special, in any way unique features. The price of this 'advanced' software is $29.95. At least you will save 5 cents.
